Silver blue foliage retains brilliant color all year. For tight clay in hot sunny and windy sites the junipers are good choices: Wichita Blue and Table Top Blue Juniper are your best selections for extreme wind conditions and in clay soils. A handsome, broadly pyramidal form makes this an excellent choice for screens, hedges, background plant, or lawn specimen. Pines are particularly at risk of drowning if planted in soil that does not drain or low spots with standing water.
